Two things that bring me to tears.

I want to shout it from the roof tops, I want to proclaim it for the world to know, I want our family to be living proof that,

GOD'S WORD IS ALIVE and POWERFUL.

There is not much that I get emotional over,
but two things will bring me to tears,

1. Orphans

&

2. The belief that God's Word is not enough...

"For a time is coming when people will no longer listen to sound and wholesome teaching. They will follow their own desires and will look for teachers who will tell them whatever their itching ears want to hear. They will reject the truth and chase after myths {a widely held but false belief}."2 Timothy 4:3

Does a man with a fancy degree really know more than God? Will therapy, which often relies on "myths" really get to the root of the issue?

Because God's Word is able to do what no man can. It is able to,

"cut between soul and spirit, joint and marrow. It exposes the innermost thoughts and desires." Hebrews 4:12

Some may argue, "well, don't you go to a doctor when you body is sick? Then why not go to a "professional" when your mind is sick?"

Because, Ephesians 4:23 says,

"let the Spirit renew your thoughts and mind."

In Isaiah 26:3 we are promised that "He will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, who keep their MIND fixed on You."

&

When Jesus healed those that were tormented by demons, it says "He put them in their right mind." Not, "He gave them a business card for a professional."

Do not get me wrong, and I have said this before, I do believe that there are cases where a chemical imbalance is involved, but this is in a very small percentage of cases.

Call us crazy. Call us fanatics. But we will stand on God's Word alone to minister to the hearts and minds of our children and those we minister to in this once war torn land.

Don't let God say the same thing he did in the book of Isaiah to this generation,

"I was ready to respond, but no one asked for My help, I was ready to be found but no one was looking for Me. I said, "Here I am, here I am!" Isaiah 43

*I am in no way pointing a finger--other than up.*

Great post! We have often been asked if we have our girls in counseling. No. We are open to professional counseling if and when we see a need and if and when the Lord guides us in that direction. But, we believe that the Lord placed these girls into our family so that we could provide for them, so that we could counsel them, so that we could lead them to The Counselor. He has the ability and desire to bring full and complete healing, without professionals (if that is how HE chooses to heal).

We do go to doctors. We have taken our children to counselors. But, first we go to the Lord. He is our primary Physician ... the One who has brought great physical, emotional, and spiritual healing to our family over the years.

Hello Summer, Sorry I don't get by as often..Work schedule is not working with blogging...! But I do stop by every week and read what you have shared, and I still pray for your family daily...It brings me to tears most of the time..The food sounds like my son-in-laws village's plight..maybe even more to the hungrer side of things...You both are so being a light in a dark world! Please know that you are thought of and supported...If I wanted to send a package for the kids where would it need to be shipped to and it is it possible to get things to you guys? I know in doctors villages we can not ship anythig, it has to be hand delivered or they won't get it??? Many blessings Shi~
