I know that I am young (very soon to be 33). I know that I have not "lived life." I know that I have never experienced raising teenagers. I know that I do not have all the answers...
But, I do know one thing. My Father has asked me to live in such a way as to be an example.
In what I say, in the way I live, in love, in faith and in purity.
The reason I blog is for just that. To be an example--not of myself but of Jesus Christ!
*I will be the first to admit I have moments where my example fails miserably*
1 Timothy chapter 4 goes on to say, in verse 14,
"Do not neglect the spiritual gift you received."
As long as I have breath I desire to use my spiritual gift of encouragement to minister to other mama's and families.
Even while I am still young.

I certainly hope that this post wasn't written in response to our "discussion" on my recent blog post. I have always very much appreciated your insights. However, on the one comment I did point out that it is different when dealing with a 7 year old adopted child or a 14 year old adopted child. If a 7 year old is acting like a preschooler, that is very different than a 14 year old acting like a preschooler. That was my intended point. I never felt like "you're so young" ... but the fact is that it IS different when parenting teens. (I've already had 9 teens.)
This does not at all diminish the wonderful ministry you have ... the great insights into parenting that you have ... the beautiful mama that you are ...
So hoping that my response to you did not offend. If it did, please forgive me. I really do treasure our Bloggy Friendship.

This particular post was written as an encouragement and exhortation to the younger mama's.
I don't ever want to come across as if I have all the answers. Rather, I want to point people to the One who does.

I am "young-ish" at 35 and I DO have a teenager! My son is 15!! My daughter will turn 13 this fall and my little China man will turn 5 this fall (Gasp)!
I haven't really thought of myself as young in a long time, but perhaps I am. Experience has often been a tough teacher though and made me feel older than my years!
