Update, update read all about it.
The government official came out for his visit yesterday...what an answer to prayer. Being a born again believer, he was in awe of all the false allegations being made, "where are the starving children locked up as prisoners?"
We all came to the conclusion that the lies stem from ignorance of the unknown. We are a white couple, living with thirteen children, eleven of whom are black, homeschooling in the middle of a village in Northern Uganda. Even after writing this, it does sound a bit odd :-)
The official has promised to be a voice for us, dispelling the false allegations in order that we might be able to have a good standing in the community, "having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ." 1 Peter.
It does sound like a committee will do a follow up "investigation" in order to prove that indeed his findings are correct and true.
Please, continue to lift up our family in prayer.
P.S. We have found a lawyer that is going to help us with the legal side of homeschooling--she just happens to have a sister in the big city who also homeschools!
