You may not believe it.

Many of you have been praying for my husband who has been very ill for the past few weeks.  Dr.s--if they can even be called that--up here in Northern Uganda were throwing out one diagnosis after another and filling Zane with all sorts of medication.  And yet, he continued to get worse.

This past Saturday, a friend offered to drive Zane down to the capitol city to see a british doctor who has practiced medicine in the country for 20+ years.  After a slew of blood tests and a thorough medical history/evaluation it was concluded that Zane had.....

Plague.

Yes.

The disease that ravaged Europe in the 14th century killing 1/3 of the population.

How, you may be wondering, did your husband contract the plague?

Rats.

Our old house was infested.

And it was Zane's "job" to kill them.

Although he never touched a rat without gloves.

He did come in to close enough contact to be bitten by a flea.

The Dr. said that the death rate for the plague is 30%-50%.

Zane is on treatment.

He is improving quickly.

And the Dr. expects a full recovery.

The Lord has numbered our days.

He holds our life in His hands.

I am grateful to still have a husband.

And my children still have the best daddy in the world.

every breath of air is such a gift, when we lose that focus is when fear sets in. God is so good even in the midst of these life "circumstances" . I have realized, it's in these times when we learn HOW to praise and worship with heart and mean it.
love you guys.

Summer!
Truly God holds our lives in his hands. I can't say I understand the sacrifice and real peril you experience by living your life sold out for Jesus in Uganda.
May the Lord bless you and prosper you and bring your husband to full healing.
Things have been hectic here with our new daughter and her many medical issues.
I meant to tell you that the Ugandan jewelry fundraiser was a big success and I think it brought in around $1400!
Thank you for getting the supplies to me. How are your ladies doing? Are they making necklaces well now? May the Lord continue to lead guide and direct you.
Love,
Holly

May our Father in heaven keep you safe. We have heard that silver supplement is a wonderful help for for such things. For prevention and recovery. In the dark ages the royalty did not get the plague as often as the peasants and it was determined That the royalty had access to silver utensils. Also in our early american days it was common to put a silver dollar in the milk can to keep it fresher longer. Silver acts as a antibacterial/antibiotic. You can find it as a supplement. Or just find a way to get yourself silver spoons and use them. I don't know how hard it is to ship things to you but I or your family could get these Items for you and ship them over. Bay leaves help detract pests. Also vinegar of four thieves was used by thieves in the time of the plague. The thieves would cover themselves and their scarfs with a mixture of vinegar and herbs while they robbed the graves of the plague victims in which they did not contract the plague themselves. you can find more info at www.bulkherbstore.com

May God bless you and your family.

P.S. also you can make garlands of Rue and Mint and place them around you house to keep the plague at bay.

Holy Smokies! That is crazy. Sunday people were telling us that the plague was in the area. I am with you on the great medical care we have in the north :) I am sure they were convinced it was malaria :) We will continue to pray for you and will be more careful with the rats!
