And now we are 11

Thanks for your prayers. We just arrived home an hour ago. It was a long day but a joyful one. All nine children are tucked in for the night. The sleeping arangements are, 4 girls in one bedroom, four boys in another bedroom and the newest in a bed next to mommy and daddy. We know that the road ahead will be walked with a cross--"take up your cross and follow Me." And along the journey we wait expectantly to see the Lord Heal and Redeem. A specific prayer request at this point is for all confusion to be removed--a small little detail, well, a HUGE detail is that this child comes from a "disrupted adoption." A word that tares at my heart. Why? Because I believe that earlthy adoption is an absolutely beautiful picture of our heavenly adoption, and God promises "to never leave us nor forsake us."

Congratulations!

We will be lifting you all up in our prayers.

I agree about loathing the term disrupted adoption. You are right on the money. I'm not going to say I understand why people do what they do, but it definitely does mar the picture of our salvation. Just as the enemy wants it. Our God is huge, He loves to redeem. In my opinion THIS is exactly the kind of thing that He loves to bring Himself glory out of. I think in some ways, you have the opportunity to change this "disruption" from a tool for the enemy, into something beautiful that truly shows the hand of God. That He never does leave us. That He sticks by us no matter what, and loves into the image of His Son.

Thank you, for your testimony, and being willing to be used by the Lord, even when others look on and say you're crazy. He will continue to equip you for the calling He has given you. His word and His spirit are enough.

Merry Christmas from Texas!

Yay! Blessings on you and yours.

Just for the sake of the discussion, not all disrupted adoptions are in the hands of the would be parents. Don't be too hard on those of us who have found ourselves in the very painful place where the children we thought would be forever in our families will not be. Its the death of a dream, the loss of a child yet God is still in control.
It does make the picture of adoption and God's redemption a bit different but you are dealing with fallible people in a fallen world. We can't expect prospective adoptive parents to have the perfection of a perfect Savior.
We are merely here to lead them to the Savior who will redeem them we are not their Savior.

Just my input. Excited that you are who God has written into the life of this child!
