R.A.D.

Redeemed And Delivered

Many of you know that I am firmly against labels placed on children, particularly adopted children. And though I am not negating the fact that there are negative and harmful effects that come from abuse, abandonment, etc., labels are NOT the key to healing nor do they deal with issues of the heart.

I am so excited that the Lord has given me the "go-ahead" to begin studying, writing and blogging about this very important and crucial aspect of parenting. As a mother to both biological and adopted children, I know that sin and bondage is not a respecter of persons (children).

I will seek to compare common behaviors listed as a "disorder" in popular adoption/attachment books to what the word of God says about these SAME behaviors. I desire to show how we as parents have been called to expose the lies of the enemy and in place teach our children that the fear of God is the beginning of all wisdom (healing, freedom...). If all we had in this world, to raise our children, was the Word of God, then I believe we would find ALL the answers we are looking for.

I will list these common behaviors I have spoken of as DB (disorder behaviors) and then I will share a verse from scripture that deals directly with this same behavior. For example,

DB: Cussing and foul speaking

"The mouth of the wicked speak perverse words." Proverbs 10:32

*"All wickedness is sin." 1 John 5:17

Labels are a fierce tactic of the enemy to keep our children in bondage but Jesus came to Redeem And Deliver!

Can't wait to read more on this.
I am praying for you and that you are doing better, and feeling stronger. I am so thankful though, for how the LORD is using this time to teach you and be with you.

Awesome! and I soooo agree with you. I just finished listening to three (free on the internet) video's by Dr Karyn Purvis,http://empoweredtoconnect.org/welcome-to-empowered-to-connect/
who is a Christian and ministers to parents and children that have come from a hard place through adoption or foster care.... and she talks about the same thing, and the actual chemical reactions in the brain, and how the right love and nuturing changes those chemicals...It's awesome.

Revolutionalizing how I interact with my kids.....

Amen my sweet, Amen! I look forward to breaking all boxes with you.

I also wanted to know if I could use your story (about spiritual warfare and adoption). I am teaching a discipleship training school this week about spiritual warfare (with YWAM) and would love to use this as an example. But of course, I wanted to ask your permission.

I also feel led to post a few times on waging warfare as well and would like to share your situation (without any names of course).

Let me know if this would be okay with you, just using your story to open closed eyes.

We need to be aware of our enemy, but impressed with God.

Blessings,
Sarah Dawn

Hello!!! Just wanted to stop in and let you know that our family is praying for your family. Small world -- Jeannie Stubblefield is a dear friend. Our family is with CC Boca del Rio in Mexico.

I'm looking forward to reading more. I totally agree with the misuse/abuse of labels and the damage done because of it.

Praying a blessed and peaceful evening for your crew tonight.
