And now she is 7

My first born daughter had her 7th birthday. Although mommy was in bed, we did our best to celebrate. Thankfully I had picked up some gifts a few months ago. Daddy went out and bought doughnuts (notice they are called, "bread for nutrition", haha)

and made chocolate frosting to pour on top--and little sprinkles, too.

Unfortunately, we could not find the candles, so we improvised with big matches :-)

Then, I laid on the couch and had each child hand their sister a gift, along with a big kiss and hug. Notice the beautiful birthday bow.
In the late afternoon I felt the need for some son-shine, so as the kids splashed in the pool

(we added shampoo for bubbles and turned it into bath time) I basked in the warmth. In the evening we got a call from fellow missionary friends that their 11 year old son had made a birthday cake and he wanted to come and deliver it.

What a blessing to have good friends--these same friends also came and anointed me with oil on Saturday.

"For He has strengthened the bars of your gates; He has blessed your children within you. He makes peace in your borders, And fills you with he finest wheat." Psalm 147

P.S. The Lord has been doing something HUGE in my heart as I lay on my "sickbed." I will share it in my next post. It will be titled, "confessions of a dictator," how fear turns us away from trusting the Lord.
