"Not right now"

The other day the Lord spoke to me through my children, once again! My daughter asked me if she could make a cup of chai. I told her yes but that she would have to wait just a bit so I could finish what I was doing--then I would gladly help her. However, instead of waiting, my daughter went ahead and began boiling the water for her tea. After a stern little rebuke I explained to my daughter that I said that she would get what she was asking for but that she needed to wait until I was ready to help her.

The Lord, also, gave me a "stern little rebuke." He asked me, "how many times have you asked Me for something and I told you yes, but wait. But instead of waiting you went ahead of Me and began to do what I asked you to wait for?" So many times I seek and ask the Lord for something, get a response but do not wait for Him to help me. And I wonder why I end up with a "burnt finger" or a "scrapped knee."

"Lead me in Your truth and teach me, For You are the God of my salvation: On You I wait all the day." Psalm 25:5

So very true!

Joe and I have been practicing patients and waiting for about four years now, on a particular situation due to Joe's near end stage Kidney disease and learning to wait for so many things during this stressfull disease is hard, let alone just every day situations. But I can say I have seen tremendeous blessings for following God, waiting on Him and Leaning on His understanding of time and space...But oh, boy I hate waiting...sigh! Blessing shi~

Thanks for this good reminder. I am in a place where I feel God has said "Yes", but I need to wait, and it is hard to not try to make it happen now - but I am learning (my lifelong lesson) to be patient! I love the way your posts seem to speak to me of God's work in my life. Thanks so much!

I so love your insights! They hit home every time. How are things going with little Jack? Or is that something to wait on? Glad all of your "at home" children are now healthy and strong!

wow, that's so awesome. I love that. I'm gonna share it all with the kids and hubby as soon as they get home!

I've been meaning to write you a short note about receiving our boxes....the kids were tickled! (mine). I mentioned somewhere (maybe FB) that only in the Lord can kids give up 7 or 8 boxes of their own toys and be thrilled when they see the recipients playing with them! Never a mention of how much they missed them or how it "wasn't fair" to give them up, etc. just flat out JOY for "Our African Family" (as we call you guys)

God is Awesome!!!!!

That is so very true. I am also amazed at how many times the Lord teaches me through my children about my relationship with Him.
