Life as homesteading missionaries in remote Africa.

Peaceful, challenging, rewarding, eternal, meaningful, exhausting...

These are just a few words that come to this weary yet joyful mind.

The kids are loving it.

Chasing goats, cows, chickens, puppies and kittens.

Mama cooking under the African night sky {not so fun when it starts to rain}.

Watching our fearless leader {daddy} as his mind whirls with ideas of "building up" this homestead for the furtherance of the gospel.

Listening to a local child ask me for soap, understanding only one or two words.

The sound of water filling our water tanks from a hand dug well and a solar water pump.

Sitting around the lantern at night as I tell our thirteen little treasures a story.

The life we call our own.

God's riches found in the simplicity of homesteading for the sake of that which is eternal.

Who are we?

"What is man that though are mindful of him?"  Hebrews 2:6

Taking a break from school.

Mommy and daddy's neat brick/bamboo bed.

Daddy's desk.

A view within.

Lantern.

The boys hut.

The school room.

What a truly AMAZING adventure. Could you have ever dreamed 10 years ago where the Lord would take you?

Your posts always challenge me to ask, "What are WE to do? What do WE need to sacrifice for the sake of the Gospel? What adventure has God called US to?" Thanks.

Thanks for sharing the little (and the big) details of your lives. It's so nice to have a picture of where you live ... how you live.
