Parenting in Power.

"And I am sending the promise of the Father {Holy Spirit} upon you.  But stay in the city until you are clothed with power from on high."  Luke 24:49

How many of us try to carry out the ministry of motherhood "un-clothed?"

By way of ignorance or disobedience, we have chosen not to wait upon the Lord in order that He 'clothe us with power from on high.'

I confess, I have attempted to parent my children "un-clothed."  And the result is always utter futility.

So, what do I do to get this power?

If you are a believer in Jesus Christ,

"You will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.  For the promise is for you and for your children and for all who are afar off, EVERYONE whom the Lord our God calls to Himself."  Acts 2:38-39

It is clear from this passage that ALL believers have the gift of the Spirit, but it is important to note that in order to be filled/empowered with the Spirit, we must ask,

"If you then being evil know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the Heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask?"  Luke 11:13

Have you asked?

If not, then stop right now {study the scriptures I have shared} and ask the Lord to clothe you with power in order to effectively carry out your ministry as a mother.

"That according to the riches of His glory He may grant you to be strengthened with power through the Spirit in your inner being."  Ephesians 3:7 & 16

As we rely 100% on the power of the Spirit, we will experience miracles within our home and in the lives of our children.  I can not tell you how many times the Lord has revealed the "secret things" of my children's hearts as I have asked the Spirit to reveal them.  Not to mention the "heavenly" peace that comes over our home when mama is living in the power of the Spirit.

*Many people have asked me how I can parent, homeschool and train twelve children under 8 years old. By the "Spirit of Power."*

This "demonstration of the Spirit and of power" is given so that our "faith might not rest in the wisdom of men but in the power of God."
1 Corinthians 2:4

The wisdom of man is powerless.  Please, seek the Lord and ask the Spirit to reveal areas of your parenting that might be governed by "the wisdom of men" rather than the "power of God."  Repent, and expect great things as you learn to Parent in Power!

"With the power of the Holy Spirit we will accomplish more in one day than we ever would in years without His power."  R.A. Torrey in 'The Baptism of the Holy Spirit.'

Amen! Amen!

We cannot do it in our own strength. I get asked all the time too...it's a great time to share the gospel. It's funny because I've had many people (not saved) look at me and say, "Yeah well...you certainly couldn't do all THAT on your own. I knew you had to have something!" LOL Yes, I've got the Holy Spirit!

Your family is so beautiful!

Can you hear me yelling AMEN! I "ask" [or at least try to remember daily to ask] for the Holy Spirit to fill me before my feet hit the floor.

Praise GOd for His power and filling. O, what a mess without! [unfortunately speaking from experience]

More of HIm and less of me!

Thank you, thank you, thank you - for this reminder! You are such a blessing to me! I will be praying to repent (again) of trying to parent in my own power. Then, I will beg God to pour out His Power!
