You know that it is hot when...

A wet bed quilt, hanging to dry in the house, is completely dry through and through in less than one hour!

A color crayon, left outside, has melted in less than 15-20 minutes.  And then you decide it would make a great homeschool lesson..

You sit outside on the porch to watch the rain clouds come in, but are absolutely bummed when all that falls are a few drops.

Your kids are going through 5+ gallons of filtered drinking water per day.

A cold shower sounds refreshing--from the moment you wake up in the morning.

You allow your 2 year old to run around, all day, in only his underwear.

I know the heat is cumbersome, but quick drying laundry w/o mango fly larvae is the silver lining. ;o)

Oh my goodness, my lovely friend, I just cannot even imagine such heart. I am so used to mountain living now where it NEVER gets hot. So glad to hear you're settling in.

Love and biggest hugs from the Ukraine (where it is still cold)

OH WOW. You say you are in Northern Uganda, right? I know one country is on the East, and one country on the West, but is it anything like the heat in Mali right now? I'm moving there in January, and I've heard March-June is HOTTTT.

So excited to find you (through Nations Around Our Table)! I grew up in Senegal W. Africa where my brother ran around like your son! I can empathize! During the hottest times of year we’d sleep outside, because it was still 90-100 inside at night. Which sounds dangerous, but we’d be elevated away from the deadly critters.
back to reading more of your blog...
God bless!
