Pray for him.

This is Eston.  He is a child that currently lives at an orphan care center in town (the same one our son Ethan once lived in).  He came to the center dying of starvation.  His hair is tinted red due to ongoing malnourishment.  He is said to be nearly 3 years old but looks no more than 18 months.  His soft spot is still visible. I am unsure how old this photo of Eston is as I found it on a website, however, he looks better here than he does in real life.  My plan is to take Eston to the clinic next week.  I will due my best to keep you all up to date on his progress.  I am trusting the Lord to heal his broken body and his broken heart.

Hi!

I know that you don't know me, but I've been reading your blog ever since someone gave me the link as Ephraim's new family. I volunteered at Amani for 3 months last year and got to know him through church. I've been praying for your family so much over the past months and am praising the Lord for ya'll. Anyway, I am headed back to Uganda in May and will be there until August. I am spending approximately 9 weeks at Amani, a week in Rwanda (I think), and then a couple of weeks with some friends in Jinja looking into different ministry opportunities. (I feel called to the mission field and will be a senior in college in the fall and feel like it is best to see some different churches and organizations.) Anyway, Melissa (who I am staying with) really recommended that I travel to Kitgum, and she wants to come with me, but we are not sure if that would work yet because they are starting their own business. Anyway, (sorry this is so long) but I was just wondering what the chances were of you knowing somewhere I/we could stay and some different organizations I could look into over a couple of days? (I'm definitely interested in the children's home you have been referring to.) My e-mail address is grace.hartmann@gmail.com and I would love to hear from you! Blessings!

Praying for Eston and your precious family. I wish I could send clothes and things to help...is that at all possible?

I am in awe of your blog. I am in awe of your faith. We have a dear friend who works with the School of Biblical Studies in Jos Nigeria. Years ago, when we were doing most of our adopting, Steve told Scott and I "I have a palace you can live in and have all the children you can care for. You can have maids and cooks....there is only one thing, you need to move to Nigeria:)" It has always been on our hearts. As I read your blog I see that love, that desire, but IN ACTION! It is an AWESOME thing...thank you so much for sharing!
