#10

Elijah has arrived! After being greeted with warm smiles and loving hugs--both of which are completely foreign to the little guy, mommy tackled the nitty gritty. Yep, it did not take long before I got him into the bath (minus the warm water as our water has been off all day and all I had was one small bucket of cold water). After a thorough scrub down with lavender oil, I examined the fungal growths on his scalp and applied oil of oregano.  His little toes have little to no toenails due to never wearing or for that matter owning a pair of shoes--so I rubbed his feet down with some special foot powder.  Due to "wet" malnourishment (kwashiorkor)  Elijah is much to swollen for nearly all the PJ's that his brother's wear.  We finally found some "Incredibles" bottoms and super hero undies--the first time for both, no kidding!

Elijah is now tucked into bed with his biological brother, although it seems neither have a clue what God has done. Please pray with us as we begin to parent Elijah.  Also, please pray that we will find a good doctor that can help us treat the various ailments that are plaguing Elijah's body.

P.S. Guess what I found in Elijah's pocket, a hand made sling shot.  Straight from the village.

That is wonderful news. Praying that he will be healed soon and for your family as you adjust to being a family of 12 :)

Oh, my heart is full knowing that Elijah now has a home, a family, a place where he will learn of the God who loves him. My prayer is that he will eventually come to know, love and serve the Lord, and that God will grant you wisdom, strength, and endurance as you integrate him into your family and learn to parent him. Bless you and Zane for your hearts to follow God in caring for the children he brings to you! Hope to meet Elijah and all his siblings some day!

Oh my goodness, my friend, I am absolutely rejoicing with you at God's amazing faithfulness. He is HOME--where he belongs. His life will never be the same again. Such redemption. It truly does leave me speechless.

What a joy it is to journey with you, dear friend. Some day I would LOVE to sit and have a LONG chat and a cup of tea together.
