"He does not not build on any natural capacity of ours at all. God does not ask us to do things that are naturally easy for us-He onlys asks us to do things that we are perfectly fit to do through His grace, and that is where the cross we must bear will always be." Oswald Chamber

My lack of posting is moslty due to an extrememly busy season (paperwork up the wazoo, sitting for hours in governement offices and way too many trips to the city). I absolutely dislike being away from my children for any length of time. However, it has been in the best interest of our Uganda children and all the legalalities that lie therein. Thankfully, the friend that came to help when I was down with brucellosis is still here and has been gracious enough to watch the kids--we just do not do babysitters unless is is absolutely necessary.

Today we had our longest court hearing to date (this is our 5th legal guardianship hearing and not the last). The judge was very thourough. Our lawyer did an amazing job answering all of her questions/concerns. Our son Ethan is from northern Uganda--an area that was ravaged by war for over 20 years--and we live in central Uganda. I suppose this would be like someone adopting from the states, getting a child from one county and legalizing the matter in another county. After a nerve wracking hour the judge announced that the ruling will be next Monday. It just happens that my husband is traveling with Ethan and two nationals to northern Uganda on that day to meet with our son's clan/village--as is his heart, he is turning the trip into a chance to share the Jesus film! Please join us in prayer as we trust the Lord for a favorable ruling and for traveling mercies and a well running car--they will be driving from central Uganda, up north, over to the east and back home, all in five days time.

Truly, none of this is in our natural capacity nor is it naturally easy, but, this is the cross that we have been asked to bear and grace covers us each step of the way.

That is an awesome quote! I needed to read that today (and everyday!)

How are you feeling?
