Seeing fruit, already!

Just one hour after writing my last post--I am already seeing fruit. One of our more outwardly rebellious children woke up from his nap, after being sent to bed for being quite disobedient. This is what unfolded,

Daddy asked this little guy to come and apologize to mommy for being disrespectful. He looked up at me and said sorry, but I knew that his heart was ripe for exhortation. This is how our conversation progressed.

Little guy: Mommy, I am sorry for not listening.

Mommy: I forgive you. Jesus really wants to help you in this but you need to give Him your old, ugly sinful heart and you let Him nail it to the cross.

Little guy: I am sorry mommy (and then he begins weeping--a 3 year old weeping over his sin).

Mommy: I love you so much. And Jesus loves you so much. He wants to take that ugly heart that does not want to listen and obey and He wants to give you a new heart, covered with the blood and love of Jesus!

Little guy: Jesus loves me. Mommy loves me (still sobbing). I don't want my ugly dirty heart.

Mommy: Then let's pray that you will hand your dirty over to Jesus.

Little guy: Prays and thanks Jesus for loving him and says sorry for his ugly heart.

Mommy: Trusting that the Lord will fill little guy with all wisdom and understanding.

Summer,

I just wanted to tell you that we & others are praying for you & yours :) I read your blog daily & I read some of it to my children, except when I am gone. I was at my cousins in Napa helping when you first got sick with this last bout. I am so encouraged & inspired by your words & the things you share. My heart hurts for your pain. I know how it feels to be bedridden in pain and trying to homeschool the children & keep house. That was my life up in the Greensprings. It was a slow spiral down hill for health but drew me closer to God & priorties...like my childrens souls.

"Come to me, all of you who are tired and have heavy loads, and I will give you rest" Matthew 11:28

Love you,
Renee & Family<><

P.S. I hope this works...my computer doesn't always let me write on your blog.
