Established households

"Therefore God dealt well with the midwives...and so it was, because the midwives feared God, that He established households for them." Exodus 1:20

What a beautiful passage of scripture. These midwives lived by faith. And because of their fear of God, and not man (Pharaoh), the Lord established their households.

This is how I long to live, completely abandoned to do what pleases my Lord, despite the threats of the "Pharaoh" that surround me.

Just a little word of encouragement, we have seen the Lord bless our home abundantly since we began walking in faith in adoption/foster parenting--truly He has dealt well with us!

Such blessing comes from being obedient. Incredible favor from the Almighty rests on our homes when we step out and DO what He has called us to do.

To answer your question--YES, we have anointed Haven with oil and done all you suggested! Thanks for checking, I appreciate your care so much.

Oh I love that verse too!! Fearing God and not man opens the door to an incredible walk with him!!

I am so inspired by your journey in adopting/fostering. It truly is God's heartbeat!

My name is Emily Berger. I am 18 and the second oldest child in our family of fifteen. We live near Lacombe, AB, Canada where my dad is a pastor. In September 2005 we adopted two children (siblings) from Liberia, West Africa. In July 2008 my dad and older brother headed back to Liberia to bring home the newest members of our family, three year old twins!

I publish/edit a small home grown print magazine called Earthen Vessels. Earthen Vessels is mailed out to just over 120 families around the world. I was wondering if you would be interested in writing an article about your family/ministry. If you wish to see a copy of the magazine first I would be happy to mail or email you a copy. I would need your address to do so.

Sounds like you have a neat family!

Blessings,
Emily Berger
