More Bible Study

This is another section that I have added to the "Christ Centered" Attachment Bible Study.
Leading our children away from the path of the foolish and 'death' (seperation from the living God) and in the way of wisdom and righteousness found in Jesus Christ.
“For you oh Lord have made me glad by what You have done…a fool does not understand this.” Psalm 92:4 & 6

"The fool says in his heart, there is no God." Proverbs

“Fools, because of their rebellious way, were inflicted…they cried out to the Lord in their trouble and He saved them, He sent His word and healed them.: Psalm 107:17-19

“Fools despise wisdom and instruction.” Proverbs 1:7

“To do evil is like sport to a fool.” Proverbs 10:23

“The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, but he who heeds counsel is wise.” Proverbs 12:15

“The heart of a fool proclaims foolishness.” Proverbs 12:23

“It is an abomination for fools to depart from evil.” Proverbs 13:19

“In the mouth of a fool is a rod of pride.” Proverbs 14:3

“Fools mock at sin.” Proverbs 14:9

“A fool rages and is self confident.” Proverbs 14:16

“What is in the heart of fools is made known.” Proverbs 14:33

“Fools mock at sin.” Proverbs 14:9

“A fool despises his father’s instruction.” Proverbs 15:5

“A fool has no delight in understanding.” Proverbs 18:2

“A fool’s mouth is his destruction.” Proverbs 18:7
“Like one who binds a stone in a sling is he who gives honor to a fool.” Proverbs 26:8

“A fool repeats his folly.” Proverbs 26:11

“He who trusts in his own heart is a fool.” Proverbs 28:26

“A fool vents all his feelings.” Proverbs 29:11
EXAMPLES:
(Note, we must first make sure we are filled with the Spirit and not allow such foolishness into our parenting)
A child who does not heed your instruction, recieve rebuke/discipline is called a fool.
A child who is angry, rebellious and disrespectful is a fool.
A foolish child loves his foolishness like a soccer player love the game of soccer--it is his delight.
A child who sees nothing wrong with his sin is a fool.
A foolish child has no desire to understand the truth.

Our children need to see and understand where the path of foolish living will bring them. According to the book of Proverbs, a fool’s life is full of destruction. It is also very clear that the fool says there is no God. Thus we can conclude that a fool will not inherit the Kingdom of God. These truths need to be made very clear.
In contrast, we can help our children, thru prayer and washing with the Word, the way of wisdom. We also see that discipline will help drive foolishness from the child, “foolishness is bound up in the heart of the child, the rod of correction will drive it far from him.” Remember, this is God’s standard.
Second Timothy 3:15 is the verse I claim for my children, “that from childhood you have known the Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith is Jesus Christ.”
God’s word is wisdom. Reading back thru the Proverbs I shared above, you can almost always read in the same verse what the way of the wise looks like. For example, the wise listen and heed instruction, obtain favor, use knowledge rightly, inherit glory, receive commands, understand and so forth. You get the point.
The best way for us to teach our children to walk in the way of the wise is to first be doing so ourselves. Just as Jesus was our example, “walk as I am,” so we must do for our children!

“We request and exhort you in the Lord Jesus, that as you received from us instruction as how you ought to walk and please God, that you excel still more.” 1 Thess. 4:1
