My life is in His hands

A quick update. The procedure went longer than planned....three incisions were needed rather than the one that was expected. They scrapped a small amount of endometriosis off my uterus but found that the main issue is endometriosis of the 'pouch of douglas-behind the ueterus. I also had to stay an extra night in the hospital due to significant pain. The surgeon also found severe piles that will need a lot of time to heal--I already had surgery for this problem, but without success. I will head back to the dr. on Monday to talk about treatment options. By what she has said thus far, I will more than likely need surgery next time we are in the states--as this hospital is not equiped to treat the form of endometriosis that I have. Thanks for ALL your prayers and encouraging emails. My amazing husband and kids are doing great-yeah God! I am in a lot of pain but have an ample supply of pain medication. I will let you all know when I arrive back safely home (Monday at 10pm/11am west coast time).

Hi, Summer, I just came to your blog for the first time today from Shauna's blog. In this post you say you may need surgery in the States. Just FYI - one of the world's leading authorities-surgeons on endometriosis is Dr. Redwine - and he practices here in Bend, OR! I think he may be close to semi-retiring, but he is training his replacement. Just something to tuck in the back of your mind. I hope that the surgery you had has brought you significant relief, and I will pray that the Great Physician will continue to heal you, so that maybe you won't have to worry about a Dr. in the States.
